What Kind Of DIY Projects People Do
 

I've done some very limited plumbing projects. I'll paint indoors and out. Landscaping is something I'll dabble in. Fixing things is something I'll do. I will not do carpentry or anything that involves things in the basement (furnace, hot water heater, washer, dryer, or concrete :))

Did you have to give the beer back after the disaster? :) I know what you mean about those plastic pipes... I don't like them. My own goof in that area was pouring something a little too strong (uh, did I say a "little??") down the pipes to get rid of a clog. Ended up with a much worse problem. :o

Nope, but we did the plumbing again, this time with steel pipes and that cost him another case of beer. :D

Wow! in your case, did you have something of a gooey consistency afterwards? :)

Plastic pipes may have their uses but not for within homes. Except maybe for those huge pipes they use in buildings.

I tend to do all the clichés - such as building shelves or putting up desks. I do enjoy doing it but I'm here on this forum to get some nice projects to undertake!

I'm not really a craftsman but I've been doing shelves and closets too. I haven't considered building decks myself, that's a project that's still way out of my league.

We're stil learning how to do a lot of things, but our most recent big job was ripping out our carpet and refinishing the hardwood floor underneath in our bedroom! My brother does construction work, so he comes over and helps us out occasionally.

I usually do the painting and papering in our house, oh yes, and cleaning up after the diy-ers. Apparently if they do all the building/repair work they shouldn't have to clean up the mess they ALWAYS make.
Hmm, funny, they never clean up after I've done the painting :mad:
