Growing citrus plants from cuttings
 

Has anyone ever grown citrus plants from cuttings? As far as i think, they're generally grafted. I'm intending to do cuttings of Wampi (a native australian plant.) The instructions available on the net say that they can be grown from soft tip cuttings, and as I don't have rootstock available for grafting. So i just wanted to ask you guys if it is possible ?

yeah, i think grafting is the best way but very time consuming. I just go to the local home depot and buy let's say an orange tree for $15. I would only consider grafting if i was going to sell what i grew as a business like at farmers markets.

I've never tried to grow citrus plants but I found this bit of info in a book my mum had and thought it might be of help. :)

Take stem cuttings in late summer or early fall and root them in moist sand. When new growth doubles the size of the cutting, it can be potted up into the same kind of soil used for the mother plant and grown on the windowsill. Use fertilizer half strength until the plant is large enough to repot.
