Growing Vegetables

HI. I have been considering growing some vegetables in my garden. I've heard tomatoes are supposed to be relatively easy to grow, so I may give those a try first. Does anyone grow vegetables, and if so, what do you think would be easy for a novice to grow?

Well, I thought tomatoes would be a good place to start. I bought my Mum some tomatoes and peppers for her birthday a few months ago. Sadly though the tomatoes seem to have gone bad. Everything was going so good as well. Many leaves. The peppers, however, seem to be plodding along nicely. So although I would have been tempted to recommend to you tomatoes, peppers are probably the way forward. Especially if you like the really hot peppers! We have some sweet and strong peppers growing.

we have brinjals, corn, spinach and mustard leaves growing in our backyard. i dont have too much knowledge as to which one will be easier to grow, my mom always instructed me to do this or do that in the backyard. so my brain is always sleeping while doing all the hard work.

lol, thanks for the replies. I think I'll go with Tomatoes and Peppers, I love both of them anyway and tomatoes were definately on my list. I should probably only try to do one, but where's the fun in that, I'm gunna dive in and go for the both! :)

I have always had success with tomato plants growned near pepper plants. Pepper plants to me are very hearty plants. They can survive the worst of all garderners. If you plant a pepper plant near a tomato plant, you won't have problems with bugs that eat your tomatoes because of the aroma given off of the pepper plants. Tomato plants on the other hand need exactly the same amount of water each day at the same time of day. They are very delicate plants.
