Unusual Room Shapes?

I live in a tower block that is a very unusual shape. Our kitchen is almost triangular, and our living room is shaped like a bent-L. It's quite annoying, as the main part of the living room is quite large, but the part on the bend is too small to do anything about.

We'd like to re-decorate, but we're not sure what to do. My idea was to hang a curtain across the shorter part of the room, and use it as a 'den' while pretending that the main part of the living room was all there was to it. The thing is, there's only one plug at that end of the room, and with it being a tower block it's not that easy to fit an extra socket.

If anyone has any ideas, they'd be much appreciated. At the moment that part of the living room holds the exercise bike and some miscellaneous junk - out of sight out of mind style :)

Its a little difficult to picture the room exactly, but my immediate reaction was that I'd look for a really attractive room divider.

As far as the plug situation goes, if you use the right cord I would think you could run it (telephone company style) along the floor (at the edge along the wall) and use a cord cover of some sort. As you may have noticed, some phone cords are held against the wall with fasteners.

You could fix it up as a reading room or just a cozy little nook. All you need is one plug in for a lamp.

I like this idea, too... a place to relax and read or rest. Could it be made into an area for the computer? I'd love to have a more private place for my desk and office space.
