Default Flea market finds

I'm not much of an interior designer but I do my share around the home. I simply love flea markets. My latest find is a bunch of elegant Korean silk sashes which I'm thinking of draping on a curtain pole for window decor.

Do you frequent flea markets too?

Yes, I have been to flea markets. Although not much lately. I have been to some yard sales though. We are going to build on another room. We are making it rustic and I found an old but in good shape coal bucket and shovel I am going to use on the stone fireplace.

That's great. Rustic stuff are hard to come by nowadays. I'm on the lookout myself for old cast-iron irons , the one they used to put coals into. I saw a pic in a mags using them for flower pots and they look great with vines cascading down their sides.

Yes, I really love flea markets and yard sales. However, I don't have much time nowadays. I'm too busy with a lot of things.

I once bought a lovely dresser for only $10. What a steal! I still have the dresser up to now.

The folks who threw that away must be crazy. Copper buckets are quite expensive nowadays and I already have like 10 ways to use it if I have one. One of my favorite stuff in the kitchen is an old copper pan cover my mom gave me.

My favourite find was a set of gothic candle stick holders - there's three of them and they line my windowsill - one on each end, and the tallest one in the middle. They look really smart, and they're really tough and well made.

I also picked up a racing car mat for the bathroom, and a set of cartoony vegetable ornaments for the kitchen.

Yes, I love the phrase " One mans junk is another mans treasure". I have lived by this phrase for a number of years and enjoy being able to find unique and fun things that I can either use as they are or make something else out of. There are just so many uses for these things and you can find things at a fraction of the new cost.

I wish I could say I liked flea markets, but there's just something about them I don't care for.

I'm the type to either go to some nice little place that sells unique stuff - or else shop online.

I enjoy going to flea markets and looking for treasures. The problem for me, unfortunately, is that I never really have enough time to do it. I used to go to a lot more yard sales that I go to now, too. I have found some tremendous bargains at places like this!
