Default Growing Tomatoes

I started to grow my own tomatoes at the beginning of summer but a week or so ago they just ended up going rotten. I have absolutely no idea what I did wrong. I first placed them in a greenhouse for a good month or so, then transferred them over to a huge bag of soil and left them outside for approximately one month. But 2 or 3 weeks ago the first 3 tomatoes were bad. What did I do wrong? If anything. It may have just been a bad batch. I was so disappointed!
