Find a leak in a roof
I have recently noticed a leak in my bathroom and I would like to fix the problem before it causes any real damage. I've got some spare tiles, a ladder, etc. I just don't know how to actually find the leak. Can anyone help me?

I would offer you a suggestion about how to do that but i wouldn't have a clue as to know where to find the leak, but we have a sleepout here and a few months back i found a leak in the roof the way i found out, it was raining one night and was raining pretty hard i didn't think anything of it that night but i went to sleep and woke up to see that it was raining inside the sleepout, now if you haven't clicked to any of that, in plain words i found out there was a leak in the sleepout because the water was pouring down on my face which woke me up lol. So my suggestion would be to wait till it rains and maybe you can see where it's dripping from. |

I had some leaks last year and after it had rained I went on the roof and inspected the tiles and I found where the problems where. The thing to take care of is that the leak you see might not be where it is really leaking as the water can travel along different paths.

if its a slab leak, then you will require subsurface leak detection equipment.sometimes if you put your ear to the slab you can hear the air gurgling coming out of the pipe.

If it's your roof that's leaking you need some-one to get up there to check for loose, missing, or broken tiles.
Pray that it's just a loose one that can be tapped back into place, as the proper way to replace missing or broken tiles involves removing the tiles and then replacing them again, which usually means getting the experts in as this can be a dangerous venture, depending on the height of your house. It's a long way to fall from two storeys high |
