Default Unusual Room Shapes?

I live in a tower block that is a very unusual shape. Our kitchen is almost triangular, and our living room is shaped like a bent-L. It's quite annoying, as the main part of the living room is quite large, but the part on the bend is too small to do anything about.

We'd like to re-decorate, but we're not sure what to do. My idea was to hang a curtain across the shorter part of the room, and use it as a 'den' while pretending that the main part of the living room was all there was to it. The thing is, there's only one plug at that end of the room, and with it being a tower block it's not that easy to fit an extra socket.

If anyone has any ideas, they'd be much appreciated. At the moment that part of the living room holds the exercise bike and some miscellaneous junk - out of sight out of mind style
